This Botticino marble tile depicts Flora of Stabiae. The reference fresco portrays a Greek nymph and is one of the most important works of the Roman Empire. Buried beneath ash and lava in the eruption of Vesuvius that also buried Pompeii and Herculaneum in AD 79, it is now held in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples.
The fresco portrays Flora intent on delicately picking the flowers and scattering them with her basket, it almost seems to float in the air.
This decorative object combines the elegance of Italian marble with the timeless beauty of classical art, making it a perfect addition to a sophisticated setting. Suitable for indoor and outdoor environments, it brings spring into every home.
Flora is one of the most fascinating figures in Pompeian art, often associated with spring and rebirth. In ancient Rome she was the goddess of flowers, plants and fertility and was celebrated with festivals called Floralia, during which citizens decorated their homes and streets with fresh flowers. Participants in her rituals wore colourful clothes to imitate the colours of flowers.
The representation of Flora that decorates this tile is inspired by the magnificent frescoes found in Pompeii, a city that offers an immense testimony to daily life and religious beliefs in ancient Rome. The frescoes of Flora, often depicted while she collects flowers or distributes garlands, symbolize the abundance and prosperity that spring brings with it.
The Sabines were a population devoted to the Goddess, so much so that they celebrated her with the throwing of broad beans and lupins and in particular represented fertility.
Maintenance
To keep your marble tile always shining, it is advisable to clean it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals that could damage the marble surface. For more thorough cleaning, use a solution of warm water and neutral soap, drying immediately afterwards with a clean cloth to prevent the formation of streaks or stains.

THE "FLORA DI STABIAE" PIASTRELLA IS WONDERFUL. AS FOR THE "MONETE IN BRONZO" THERE WAS ONLY ONE "MONETA" WHICH IS BEAUTIFUL
THE ONLY PROBLEM IS TRANSPORTATION COMPANY THAT IS VERY SLOW AND TOOK MY PARCEL TO GERMANY AND THEN ROMANIA BEFORE ARRIVING IN GREECE. MAYBE THAT IS WHY THE SHIPPING COST IS SOMEHOW HIGH.

La ringraziamo per le sue gentili parole!
Ho scelto diverse piastrelle come bomboniere per la laurea in Scienze dei beni culturali, di mia figlia. Bellissime e confezionate bene ho dovuto solo inserirle in borsine rosse e aggiungere i confetti. Un successo . Spedizione e assistenza perfette.
Thank you ! When my first order came and it wasn’t correct you imediately fixed it. Customer service was wonderful . My tile is beautiful . The quality is very good and it’s a beautiful reminder of my trip to Italy . I’ve given it to my mother in law as a gift and she loves it !
shipping was relatively fast. It arrived later than expected but still, it was acceptable considering it had to be shipped internationally. It was very well packed.
I bought this tile twice as a souvenir for my mother and my sister during my visit at Pompei last year. At home I soon regretted that I didn't buy one for myself - thankfully I found this online shop and had the chance to order the tile now. It's really very pretty and looks a bit vintage, which is great! <3
